Melva Rue Abbey, 55, passed on June 13, 2021. She was born to Evert Lee Abbey and Lorraine Mae Smith in Davenport, Iowa on December 05, 1965.

Surviors include her 3 children Deshawn Abbey, Cole Abbey, Jonae Abbey. Her 3 grandchildren Valerian Abbey, Hayzlee Abbey and Kyla Abbey. Her sister Viola Abbey. As well as many loving nieces nephews and cousins.

Melva worked at Silvercrest Garner Senior Living and was passionate about affecting the most positive change in people. She loved Going to family cookouts and was an avid bingo player. She especially loved taking trips to Quincy on the weekends to hang out with her granddaughters. She enjoyed shopping at thrifts stores and hitting the yards sales just about every weekend.

Melva was preceded in death by her Mother Lorraine Smith, her Father Evert Abbey as well as her two brothers Thomes Abbey and Marquite Abbey, all of Davenport Iowa.

Service: A memorial serivce will begin at 12 noon on Saturday, June 19, 2021, at Weerts Funeral Home. The family will be having a repast at the Quad Cities Event Center following directly after the funeral.
