Mary Jo Sakry, 74St. Cloud, MinnesotaAug. 11, 1942 ~ Dec. 31, 2016A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 6, 2017 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Mary Jo Sakry, age 74, of St. Cloud, who passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Reverend Thomas Knoblach will officiate. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Parish Cemetery in Waite Park. Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and one hour prior to services at the church. Arrangements are with the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud. Mary Jo was born on August 11, 1942 in Crookston, Minnesota to Joseph and Katherine (Phalen) Malone. She graduated from the St. Cloud School of Nursing in 1963. Mary Jo married Dennis Sakry on June 6, 1964 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hibbing. She worked as a Registered Nurse throughout her life, spending the last 22 years at the St. Cloud V.A. Health Care System. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Mary Jo loved taking care of her family and her friends. She is survived by her husband; children, Kim (Win) Wratschko of Genoa City, WI, Scott of Chandler, AZ; grandson, Sebastian Sakry; sisters, Patty Nosan of White Bear Lake, twin sister, Marilyn Sweetnam of Duluth, and Diane (Andy) Driver of St. Cloud; and many nieces and nephews. Mary Jo was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Bud Peterson; and infant son, David.
