Margaret M. FossholmOctober 19, 1918 - December 25, 2016Salem - Margaret May Fossholm, 98, passed away Dec. 25, 2016. Margaret was born on Oct. 19, 1918 to August and Signa Woelke on a farm in North Howell, OR, along with her sister Flora (deceased). She met Willmar Fossholm in 1936 on a threshing crew run by her Dad, and a year later they were married. They set up home in Silverton, OR where they had three children, daughter Lou Ann (Loren (deceased)), and sons Robert (Liz), and Jerry (deceased). In 1947 they bought the North Howell Store and a year later they built freezer lockers to rent out. In 1959 they traded the store for a farm on Nusom Rd. and in 1991 Willmar Fossholm passed away.Margaret farmed cane berries for many years and also enjoyed quilting, embroidery, cooking, games and being with her family. In 2014 Margaret moved to Lancaster Village, where she spent her remaining days. Margaret is survived by 8 granchildren: Jeff (Teri) Fossholm, Steve (Lori) Fossholm, Sam Shadow, Dolly Palacios, Cindy (Len) Petrush, Bill Richter (deceased), Mark (Noelle) Bartruff, and Matt (Diane) Bartruff; 11 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.Celebration of Life will be 10:30am, Fri., Jan. 6, 2017 at Salem Alliance Church.
