LeRoy Thomas Downing of Durant, Oklahoma passed from this life on October 31, 2016 in Durant, Oklahoma at the age of 88 years, 2 months and 3 days. LeRoy was born on August 28, 1928 in Caddo, Oklahoma to Roy T. and Janis (Crossett) Downing.

LeRoy came to Bryan County in 1984 from, Lakewood California. He graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University with a degree in Engineering. Leroy worked for Northrop Grumman for many years as an electrical engineer. He was of the Methodist Faith, and he enjoyed fishing, backpacking, noodling, hang gliding, and spear fishing. LeRoy served in the United States Navy during WWII and the Korean War. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

LeRoy was preceded in death by his Parents; wife, Charolette; brother, Jerry Downing.

LeRoy is survived by his daughters, Jillian Downing-Brandt and husband, Michael of Milburn, OK, Gloria Downing-Figg and husband, Ronald of Long Beach, CA; grand-daughter, Nicole Woods and husband, Craig of Bella Vista, AR; grandsons, Christopher Leyendecker and wife Natalie of Calera, OK, James Figg of Buena Park, CA, David Figg of Long Beach, CA; grand daughter, Sage Leyendecker of Anaheim, CA; great-grand daughters, Hannah Woods of Bella Vista, AR, Savannah Woods of Bella Vista, AR, Patience Leyendecker of Calera, OK.

Memorial services will be held 1:00 PM, Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Browns Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Jeremy Parham officiating. The family will meet in the funeral home's community room after the service for a luncheon. Feel free to drop off any food for the family prior to or immediately following the service. No family hour is scheduled at this time.
