A life well lived.

It is with heavy hearts yet deep gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Betty Jo Williams, who peacefully departed this world on May 10, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on August 16, 1939, in the heartland of Wichita, Kansas, Betty was a beacon of warmth, kindness, and unwavering love.

Betty was the cherished mother to Connie Faye Merrell of Norman, Oklahoma, and Vera Stevens of Noble, Oklahoma. Her nurturing spirit and endless devotion to her family were the cornerstones of her life, and she was the proud grandmother of ten grandchildren, including Shlonda Russell of Norman, Oklahoma, Jackie Hibbs of Choctaw, Oklahoma, and Stephany Moore of Norman, Oklahoma. Her legacy of love continues to flourish through her eight great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and pride.

Betty's life was a tapestry of simple pleasures and profound love. She had a special talent for cultivating beauty and sustenance in her garden, a joyous endeavor in which she took great pride. Her garden was not just a source of nourishment but also a bridge to her community, as she generously shared her bountiful harvest with neighbors, embodying a spirit of giving that touched all who knew her.

A master of the knitting needles, Betty created countless cherished garments and blankets for her beloved grandbabies, each stitch woven with love and care. Her creations were treasured gifts that warmed both body and soul, a testament to her loving dedication to her family.

Betty also never missed a bingo night, where her laughter and competitive spirit brought joy to those around her. Her presence was a delightful addition to the gatherings and a reminder of her zest for life and the importance of community and friendship.

Though Betty's family has chosen to honor her life with a private ceremony, they wish to express their heartfelt gratitude to all who have supported them during this difficult time. They are comforted by the many memories shared with her and the legacy of love she leaves behind.

In celebrating the life of Betty Jo Williams, we remember her as a woman of immense strength, generosity, and love. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of her family and friends, and her memory will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Rest in peace, dear Betty, knowing you have left the world a better place through your kindness, compassion, and unwavering love.
