Leonard B. ClaypoolMANSFIELD: Leonard B. Claypool, 95, of Mansfield, passed away on Thursday, November 3, 2016.Leonard was born on October 16, 1921, in Palmer, WV, to Jessie W. and Delcie (Morrison) Claypool. He proudly served his country in the U.S.
Army during
WWII. Leonard was a member of First English Lutheran Church and was employed with Westinghouse, retiring after 40 years. He enjoyed tinkering on cars and especially enjoyed antique cars. He loved to drive his grandchildren around on his mower and he enjoyed country music. He married Betty (Hassinger) Claypool on March 6, 1949, and upon their retirement, they traveled all over the country, and many places out of the country.He is survived by his loving wife, Betty; three daughters, Sharon Nevius of Lexington, and Susan Fife and Rebecca (John) Roe both of Mansfield; seven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and nieces and nephews.Leonard was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.Calling hours will be from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at First English Lutheran Church, 53 Park Avenue West, Mansfield. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the church with Pastor Andrew Jones officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Memorial Park, Lexington, with full military honors performed by the Richland Co. Joint
