LaVon Allen Wright Sr., of Desert Hot Springs, California also known as "Von” passed away on July 2, 2024, at the age of 68. Born on September 23, 1955, to Charles Edward Wright Sr. and Marion Henderson. LaVon was known to be the life of the party and always had a joke ready to make you smile.
LaVon had three sons, the eldest son, LaVon Wright Jr., who preceded his passing. He is survived by his three living children, Damion Anthony Wright Sr. (Maricella), Davon Allen Wright Sr. and Jacqueline Wright (Melissa) and one stepson Marcus Allen. LaVon also leaves one Brother Lawrence Lankford, three sisters, Tina Peggins (Kelvin), Penny Douglas and Autumn Wright who will forever cherish the memories of their father and brother ‘s colorful personality and love for dad jokes. LaVon was a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren, who brought endless joy and laughter into his life.
LaVon was a hardworking man, having worked at DWP and the Veterans Administration. He also proudly served in the Army as a Pfc, where he honed his knack for storytelling and entertaining his comrades.
When not working or spending time with his family, LaVon could often be found at the casino, trying his luck and enjoying some well-deserved time to himself. He always said that winning big at the slots was his retirement plan, and we're sure he's up in heaven now, hitting the jackpot.
LaVon will be remembered for his infectious laughter, his love for his family, and his ability to find humor in any situation. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but we take comfort in knowing that he is now cracking jokes with the angels above.
