This was LaVaughn’s Journey

LaVaughn Hopson, age 46 of Albion Michigan, resided and departed in Cleveland Ohio on May 25th, 2019 in his home peacefully. LaVaughn life began on June 26, 1972 in Cleveland Ohio, born to Virginia Hopson and Lawrence King Dozier. As a child, he attended Harrington Elementary school in Albion , he graduated from Eastern High School in Lansing MI. LaVaughn also attended Ohio State College in 2012 where he received his barber license.

He was employed with Midtown trucking in Cleveland Ohio and self employed as a Barber for 31 years. LaVaughn not only enjoyed his job as a barber he also used that time to give wisdom and positive guidance to everyone who set in his chair.

In addition to his wisdom LaVaughn celebrated his last 25 years of sobriety. LaVaughn was an authentic role model, love making people laugh, yard sale shopping, fishing, bargain shopping, filming family pictures, and always lending a helping hand to anyone who needed it, and loved bow legged women, If you knew of LaVaughn you knew he had a big heart, and Tya and him was inseparable.

He leaves to cherish his memory, (1) Daughter; Mercedes Mosher, Lansing (3) Sons, Twyon Hopson North Carolina, Quavonte Wilford, Lansing , Christian Mason, Cleveland Ohio,  Mother Virginia  Hopson, Lansing Michigan (3) Sisters; Tya (David) Peterson, Jackson Michigan,  Chante’ Hopson, Lansing, Ashsana Richardson, Lansing; (2) Brothers, Casanova Richardson, Lansing Michigan, Dominque Hopson, Jackson Michigan(6) Grandchildren (4) stepchildren; A special father figure Willie and Pearl Rembert, Lansing; and host of his nieces and nephews but he called one niece, niece 1 aka Lazell and 3D(Cadeja). His Aunt Debra Wilford, Lansing ; Uncle William (Patricia) Lansing, Uncle Allen ( Janice) White. Special Uncles and Aunts in Cleveland Ohio and Special sisters and brothers in Lansing.

LaVaughn was preceded in death by his father; Lawrence King Dozier, Grandmother’s ; Mary Dozier, Almetra Wilford; Brother; Allen James Hopson;  Great Nieces, Christianna and Jayana Hopson and his favorite pets; Elli ( iguana) and lady (pit bull).
