Kenneth Ray "K. R." Smith, Sr.Springhill, LA- Funeral services for Mr. Kenneth Ray "K. R." Smith Sr., age 85, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronald Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, Bernice, LA, under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Bailey Funeral Home.Mr. Smith was born on May 13, 1931 to J. Henry and Julia Ann Harrell Smith in Farmerville, LA and passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at his home in Springhill, LA. He was a resident of this area since 1951 and was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church. He was an employee of International Paper Company retiring with 42 years of service. He was an avid gardener and loved fishing.He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mrs. Mavis Conly Smith; daughter, Jeanette Daniel and husband, John of Keithville, LA; sons, Kenneth R. Smith, Jr. and wife, Rhonda of Winona, TX; Steven D. Conly and wife, Genyne of Murfreesboro, AR; six grandchildren, Eric Bethany, Shelly Bray, Christina Evans, Jenny Miller, Margarette Leuzinger and Danielle Wren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter and two step-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his first wife, Margarette Austin Smith; his parents, two brothers, Edgar Smith and Dewey Smith and sister, Alma Smith.Pallbearers will be Eric Bethany, Crawford Williams, Leon Allison, Jimmy Thompson, Dwayne O'Steen and John Ray McEachern.Sign our online guest book at www.baileyfuneralhome.net
