Joseph Nicholas Kotanchik, Jr., passed away on January 26, 2014 in Kingwood, Texas at the age of 67. He was born on October 25, 1946 in Newport News, Virginia to Joseph and Mary Kotanchik.

Joseph wore many hats during his life. He served his country in the Army and National Guard, and was a Vietnam Veteran. He graduated from Denver University, which led to his 32 year career with Shell Corporation. He proudly volunteered for the Searbrook Fire Department and was a Boy Scout Leader of Troop 8. He was also a member of Kingwood United Methodist Church.

Joseph was predeceased by his parents and brother, James Joseph Kotanchik. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Sue, and their son, Joseph Andrew.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Kingwood Funeral Home, followed by burial at Houston National Cemetery.
