John Michael "Mike" PrestSHREVEPORT, LA- John Michael (Mike) Prest passed away on January 3, 2017 after a sudden illness. He was born on October 6, 1960 in Shreveport, LA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 9, 2017 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery. Father Phil Michiels of St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton will be officiating. Visitation will be at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home, January 8, 2017 from 5-7 p.m. with a rosary following. Mike was a retired engineer from the Union Pacific Railroad. Mike was an avid outdoorsman, loved fishing, hunting and riding his Harley. He never met a stranger and always helped anyone in need. Mike was a devoted son, father, grandfather and friend and will be greatly missed by all that knew him. Preceded in death by his Grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Prest; Mr. and Mrs. Marsh; his loving Mother, Janice Gale Kerry. He is survived by his father Mr. Charles John Prest; brothers Christopher J. Prest and Aaron Kerry; Step-father, Marvin Kerry. His son Korey Prest and Christopher Wendling; daughter, Andrea Meshelle Prest Peters, and precious grandchildren, Serenity and Kayla Peters; Jordan and Colten Wendling; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
