Johanna Armilla Maldonado Obituary

Nov 04, 1996 - Oct 22, 2019

This obituary is administered by:

Our Beloved “Jo Jo”

Johanna Armilla Maldonado, 22, of Pensacola, Florida passed away suddenly on October 22, 2019.

Johanna was born to parents Michelle and the late Elias Maldonado, on November 4, 1996 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. At a young age, she was moved to Pensacola, FL due to her father's military occupation. There, she was raised alongside her 2 siblings. By just the tender age of 16 years old, Jo Jo would go on to accomplish many accolades in her years to come. She graduated from Central East High School in 2012 and went on to nursing school at Pensacola Christian College. In the summer of 2016, Jo Jo discovered that she was pregnant with her, one and only son, Marcus Xavier Maldonado. She welcomed him into the world on February 25th, 2017 and he became the center of her life from then on.

Jo Jo enjoyed the little moments of life such as taking trips to the beach, listening to music on full blast, practicing with makeup until it was perfect, and making sure to spend each of these moments with Marcus right by her side. Jo Jo was an active member of the church and had a personal relationship with God throughout her life. Her number one priority for the later years of her life was providing her son with all of the love and guidance she could possibly give him. Jo Jo was a carefree and spirited soul who could light up a room and put a smile on everyone's face just by walking in. She will be sincerely missed as she goes home to the Kingdom of God, but we find solace in knowing the impact she made on anyone she ever met. Our hearts are with everyone who was touched by Jo Jo's life in this time.

Predeceased by her father Elias Maldonado.
Johanna is survived by her son, Marcus Xavier Maldonado, mother, Michelle Maldonado-Ferdinand; siblings, Jo-Ann Maldonado and Gabriel Hernandez, Stepdad, Andrew Ferdinand, step-sisters Grace Bains of Houston, Texas, Jasmina Ferdinand of Orlando, Florida, and Alaina Diggs of Tampa, Florida; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family has entrusted Faith Chapel Funeral Homes with the arrangements. A service for Jo Jo is scheduled for November 4, 2019 at 2:00 pm to celebrate the life of Johanna. It will be held at 1000 S Hwy 29, Cantonment, Florida 32533. A reception will follow at 4:00pm.
