Carol Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Welcome Cemetery under the direction of Jeane's Funeral Service of Leesville, LA. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 13, 2017, from 5:00-9:00 PM at Simpson Church of God.Joe Allen Collins was born on August 2, 1918 in Hemphill, LA to Matt and Ann Collins. He passed away on January 12, 2017, in Simpson, LA at the age of 98 years 5 months and 10 days. Mr. Collins was a lifelong resident of the Simpson area and retired from civil service at Ft. Polk, LA. He served as constable for Ward 6 for 29 years and also served as a sheriff deputy for the Vernon Parish Sheriff's Office. He loved to serve his community and will be greatly missed by all.He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Madie Lee Wells Collins, daughters: Freda Brantley and Jean Taylor, sons-in-law: Del Neely, Charles Bennett, and Rodney Richmond, and two granddaughters. He is survived by daughters: Gloria Neely of Lake of Pines, TX, Madie Bennett of Simpson, LA and Glenda Sue Richmond of Alexandria LASons-in-law: Ward Brantley of Houston, TX, Troy Taylor of Dallas, TX, and Bill Myers of Dallas, TX12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 18 great-great grandchildrenWords of comfort may be extended to the family at www.jeanesfs.com.
