Jerri Evans, born on August 14, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois to Elder Nathan and Missionary Beatrice Thomas. Departed this life on March 6, 2024, at the age of 80. A lifelong resident of Chicago, Jerri was known for her warm heart, caring nature, and the love for her son Nathaniel Evans Jr.

She married the love of her life Nathaniel Evans Sr. on May 17, 1964. Within this union was born a beloved son Nathaniel Evans Jr., affectionately known as 'Ducy" by love one's. Both husband and son preceded her in death.

Jerri accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was a member of Mt. Calvary Church of God and Christ. under the leadership of Elder Jerome Scott.

Her passion for dance was well-known among her friends and family, as she frequently graced the dance floor during stepping nights at local venues such as Navy Pier and the Museum of Science and Industry. In quieter moments, Jerri could be found playing cards, surrounded by laughter and the company of loved ones.

Jerri's memory is cherished by her surviving brothers, Verdell and Ronnie Thomas, and she leaves behind a loving and extensive family of nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews who will miss her deeply.

 On this day of May 5, 2024, we will honor a life well-lived and a soul that brought light and joy to all who had the blessing of knowing her.
