Jerald (Jerry) Lee Meyers, 73MontroseMar. 2, 1943 - Jan. 25, 2017Jerry was born on March 2, 1943 in Aberdeen, SD,  to Harold and Irene (Grey) Meyers.  He passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 25, 2017.  He currently resided in Montrose, MN.  He grew up on the family farm in Aberdeen, leaving school after the 8th grade to work on the farm full time.  He developed a strong work ethic which served him well throughout his life.  He and his growing family relocated to the Twin Cities in 1967 where he worked as an auto mechanic for many years.  In 1971 the family relocated to a lake home on Clearwater Lake in Annandale, MN.  Later he fulfilled a lifelong dream by becoming a commercial pilot.  His passions included fishing, hunting and NASCAR.He is survived by siblings: Joey (Terry) Bowie of Sumner, WA, John (Jane) of Andover, MN and Judy (Pete) Ackley of Ft. Pierre, SD; children:  Deb (Ed) Jones of Minneapolis, MN, Denise Manthey of Otter Tail, MN, Melissa (Bob) Luzier of Sartell, MN,  Rob (Kelly) Meyers of Zimmerman, MN, Sharla (William) Payne of Corona, CA; thirteen grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; his friend and former spouse Paulette Kolb of Aberdeen, SD and her four children; and his long-term companion Ellie Polsean of Sioux Falls, SD.He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, an infant sister and former spouse and friend LaVonne Meyers.Visitation Sunday, January 29, 2017 form 2 pm to 4 pm at Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel, 250 East Broadway, Monticello, MN.  Funeral service to follow at 4 pm.  Interment will be in the Spring 2017 at Riverside Cemetery of Aberdeen, SD.
