James Menefee, 85, of Dayton, Ohio, passed on July 02, 2023. James was born on January 01, 1938 to the late Henry and Edith Menefee of Augusta, GA. He was educated in Richmond County and Montgomery County and accepted Christ at a early age at Zion Baptist Church in Dayton, Ohio. James was an employee of Dayton Public Works Department where he operated heavy equipment for over 50 years. Often praised for his impeccable ability to operate heavy machinery. His attention to detail and pride in his work made him love his job and perfect his art over the years, making it hard to replace him with agency. He loved to host and spend time with his friends and was an unapologetic home body. At an early age, James met and married Denise Marshall, who was the mother of one daughter Dominque Marshall. To this union, an additional three children was born, Theressa Elam, George Menefee and Jessie Menefee, creating a family of two girls and two boys.
