Dr. Henry B. Jones, Jr. -GRAY - Dr. Henry B. Jones, Jr., of Atlanta Road, died Friday, January 14, 2011, in a local hospital after an extended illness. A graveside funeral service will be held at 2P.M., Sunday, January 16, 2011 at Highview Cemetery in Gray, with Dr. Steve Albanese officiating. -Dr. Jones, the son of the late Henry B. Jones, Sr. and Lutie Mae Greene Jones, was born on May 9, 1927 in Gray and was a life-long resident. He graduated from Jones County High School, Emory University and earned his medical degree from The Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Jones served his country with honor as a Medical Officer in the United States Air Force. Returning to civilian life, he served his community as a physician from 1955 until 1991. Dr. Jones also served as Medical Director of Lynn Haven Nursing Home from 1960 until 1985, was a member of the Bibb County Medical Society, the Medical Association of Georgia and the American Medical Association. He was also a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Gray. -Dr. Jones is survived by his dear friends, Carl Anderson of Macon and Mary Arnold of Macon; cousins and spouses, Janelle and Al Bridges, Marilyn and Clark Sauls, all of Gray; and by several other relatives. -In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church of Gray Renovation Fund, Post Office Box 429, Gray, Georgia 31032. -Bridges Funeral Home and Crematory in Gray has charge of arrangements. -Please visit the online memorial at www.bridgesfh.com.
