Life Of Helen Jones
Helen Trent Jones was born on July 24, 1950 to Silas and Elouise Jones in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was the second youngest of eleven children. Helen has two living sisters Ruthie Cross and Ella Weaver, four living brothers Rev. Willie Jones, Rev. Levi Jones, Jerry Jones and Douglas Jones. Proceded Helen in death are her parents Silas and Elouise Jones, her sister Virginia Jones, and three brothers Murphy Jones, Alfred Jones, and Terry Jones. As a child, she moved to Dallas, TX with Virginia, for a year to help look after her niece Linda. She later moved back to Louisiana, but would visit Texas every summer. Helen graduated from Shaben High School in the late 1960's. Shortly, after graduating she decided to follow behind her two sisters Ruthie and Ella to California. She gave birth to five children Timothy D Ledford, Shemikia L Ledford, Montrie M Ledford, Christian C Ledford, and Alexis K Brown. Helen raised her children in Compton, Ca. in the 1970's she joined a bowling league in Long Beach, Ca . Where she played in many tournaments and won. Later, Helen moved to Bellflower, Ca she decided to further her education as a pharmacy technician where she attended Compton Community College. Once she completed her program she gained employment at Thrifty's Drug Store in Bellflower, Ca. She enjoyed her job, she was very passionate about helping others. Helen was a pleasure to talk to, no matter what your problem was she always say, "you'll get through it" or "God is in control". Whenever you talked ti her she was always positive, uplifting letting people know that everything is going to be alright. She always kept you in her prayers, a true prayer warrior. Helen was kind and loving she would give you her last. She was very active in the church. After living in Bellflower, Ca for some years she decided to move to Las Vegas, Nv. She gained employment at Bellagio hotel and casino as a Baccarat Clerk, but Helen wanted more so she went back to school to become a BlackJack dealer and she was good at it. She would come home and tell all her stories about how she won the tables. Helen had a heart of gold, the biggest caring heart sometimes leaving her own self vulnerable giving all her cares and concerns to God. Helen left behind a legacy, she has eighteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, she will forever live within us.
