Alta Grace Aubert-lacroix Obituary

A life well lived

Alta grace Aubert-Lacroix, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, went to be with the Lord on December 20, 2100, at the age of 100. Alta was born on January 19, 2000, at Touro infirmary in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was the oldest of 2 children born to Wilfred and veronica Aubert. At age three, she attended Sanchez preschool, and at age 5, she started kindergarten at Martin Luther King Jr, school of science and technology. Alta was very close with her sister Kelsey. They were only two years apart, but because they had such a strong bond, many people thought they were twins. Alta's parents made it a priority to raise their children in the church. Christ was the center of Alta's life from an earlier age until she passed.

From a young age, Alta always had a passion for others, so, at the age of 19, she began her journey to becoming a social worker. She attended Dillard University, where she received her bachelor's degree; the following year, she received her master's at Tulane university school of social work. Alta worked as an LCSW (licensed clinical social worker) at youth villages, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping emotionally and behaviorally troubled children. She worked here for five years. Alta's passion for others was not limited to just children; she would spread her love by helping others during the holidays, she would cook meals, and pass out plates to the homeless. In 2030 she took her career to the next level and began her private practice. Alta earned a reputation for being able to reach delinquent adolescent boys and girls in a way that many other providers were not. Although this was a huge accomplishment, she had not yet had her greatest accomplishment until 2025. Alta first set her eyes on the love of her life, Baxter Lacroix, at the skating rink in 2025. After a year of dating, they were united in holy matrimony on November 3, 2026, and he became her handsome king with whom she shared 74 wonderful years. With and from this union, they had twelve children: Baxter jr., Christina, Ruben, Claude, Verna, Alex, Valerius, Maurice, Tyrone, Gisele, Antoine, and Angela; 30 grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Alta was a resident of New Orleans until 2059; she packed up and took her family to Katy, Texas, where she retired from working. She was a member of the Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas, where she served as an usher. Alta was known for her unconditional love for her family, straightforwardness, kind heart, and great sense of humor. She enjoyed ballet dancing, laughing, traveling, and being with her family. Alta was surrounded by her family and closest loved ones when she passed. She leaves behind her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister, nieces, and nephews.

She will be missed dearly by everyone.
