Helen "Janie" ReedZANESVILLE: Helen "Janie" (Cochran) Reed, age 61, of Zanesville, passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Genesis Hospital following a short illness. She was born on September 1, 1955, in Coshocton, the daughter of Carolyn Cochran, and the late Dale Cochran. On June 1, 1973, she married Timothy Reed who survives. Janie was a wonderful, loving, caring, daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother who adored her family. She loved the outdoors and flowers. She enjoyed photography and was a wonderful seamstress making many clothes throughout the years. She was a very creative artistic person. Janie had a passion for life like no other. She will be truly missed by all her family and friends. Surviving are her mother, Carolyn Cochran of Dresden; her husband of 43 years, Timothy Reed; daughter, Aimee (Eddie) Kain of Nashport; son, Ben (Nita) Reed of Wilmington; eight grandchildren, Adam and Corina Kain, Madyson, Ethan, and Braxton Reed, , Cameron and Izabelle Coomer, and Hunter Wisecup; one half-brother, Dirk (Mary) Cochran of Mount Vernon; one step brother, Mitch Cochran of Dresden; three half-sisters, Linda, Laura, and Lisa; two step-sisters, mother-in-law, Wanda "June" Reed of Zanesville; sister-in-laws, Marty (Gilbert) Nowell of Nashport and Tammie Benjamin of Coshocton; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In addition to her father, Janie was preceded in death by her step-father, Ernie Cochran; father-in-law, Charles "Fizz" Reed, as well as one step-sister. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2016 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Given-Dawson Funeral Home, 186 Park Ave., Coshocton. Funeral services will begin at 1:00pm on Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Joe Sanders officiating. Following the service, Janie will be laid to rest on the land she loved and shared with her husband. An online memorial can be viewed at
