Helen Ann Bero, age 93, of Oscoda, formerly of Linwood, passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Tawas St. Joseph Hospital. She was born on Feb. 19, 1923 in Chicago, Ill. to the late Frank and Mary Baran. Helen was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and had a passion for gardening and would often sell many of her perennials. Helen is survived by her sons, Ronald (Mary) Bero and John (Louann) Bero; sister, Annie (Warren) Mier; brother, Pete (Lena) Baran; grandchildren, Ronni (Hugh) Ettline and Daniel Bero and his girlfriend, Danielle Collin; and great grandchildren, Troy McKee, Erin Ettline, Chloe Bero, Collin Bero and Noah Bero. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Bero; brothers, Al Baran and Chester Baran; and sister, Julie Grocholski. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 18 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Buresh Funeral Home in Oscoda. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, March 19 at 11 a.m. (instate at 10 a.m.) at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Reverend Charles Donajkowski officiating. Interment will take place following the service in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Building Fund and condolences may be offered at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com.
