As he grew older, he channelled these qualities into pursuing higher education, ultimately graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from the renowned University of Alabama.

Beyond his professional achievements, Harold was truly a pillar of the Huntsville community. He was known for his infectious kindness, unwavering generosity, and devotion to lending a helping hand to those in need. His warm smile and gentle nature made him an approachable figure, and many sought his counsel and friendship. Harold relished in the opportunity to assist others and was always willing to provide guidance and support without hesitation.

Outside of work, Harold had a deep passion for nature and the outdoors. He enjoyed exploring the picturesque landscapes of Huntsville, often taking long hikes in the nearby mountains or spending tranquil afternoons by the river. Harold was a loving husband, devoted father, and cherished friend. He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Margaret Brown, their two children, April and Christy and his sister, Elizabeth. He will be deeply missed by his family, who will forever cherish the memories they shared together.

A memorial service will be held on August 16, 2023, at the Hooper and huddleston funeral home where friends and family will gather to honor and celebrate Harold's life.
