Gerry CoeAge: 71 • Staunton, VAGerry Coe, 71, formerly of Clintwood, VA & Johnson City, TN, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Brookdale Senior Living in Staunton. She was born on October 26, 1945 in Oakridge, Tennessee to the late Marion A."Steve" Coe and Edna M. (Moore) Coe. Ms. Coe held a BS and Master's Degree in Fine Arts. She was a retired art teacher at Waynesboro High School where she touched the lives of many of her students. She was an avid book reader, loved making art, and often spent much of her time giving back to the community and those in need. She was greatly loved by many and will be deeply missed.She is survived by a grandson, Jarred Sarper Kerman of Gaithersburg, MD. A memorial service will be conducted at First Church of God in Christ, 866 Middlebrook Avenue, Staunton, VA on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made to the Animal Welfare Institute at https://www.awionline.org.Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.henryfuneralhome.net Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
