Geraldine E. Horsman, age 92, of Pine Island, passed away on Monday, Nov. 21, 2016, at the Pine Haven Care Center. A service was held for the immediate family at the Mahn Family Funeral Home - Mahler Chapel in Pine Island. Burial was in the Pine Island Cemetery. Geraldine Evelyn Biery was born on June 11, 1924, in Milton Township, Dodge County, Minn., to Edward and Emma (nee Wobschall) Horsman. She grew up on the family farm and attended country school. On June 26, 1943, she married Lyman Horsman in Rochester. They made their home in Rochester until 1949, when they moved to the Pine Island area. Geraldine worked many different jobs throughout the years, but spent many years working at S & L Clothing Store, located in the Miracle Mile Shopping Center. Along with working at S & L, Geraldine also helped her husband Lyman run the Northstar Service Station & Car Wash in Pine Island. In 1988 they moved to Zumbrota. Geraldine was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Pine Island. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting, shopping and visiting the casino. Geraldine is survived by her daughter, Sherrie (Gerald) Stolp of Oronoco; three granddaughters, Fawn (Robert) Staub of Mazeppa, Nicole (Eric) Segar of Stewartville and Erica (Aaron) Thompson of Oronoco; five great-grandchildren, Chase (Aimalicia) Staub, Chelsea (Slade) Hampel, Alivia Zorteau, Gavyn Zorteau and Adelyn Segar; two great-great-grandchildren, Landon and Kylan Hampel and several nieces and nephews. Geraldine is preceded in death by her husband, Lyman; parents, Emma and Edward Biery; grandson, Lyn Stolp and brother, Gerald Biery. Memorials are preferred to Heartland Hospice or Pine Haven Care Center.
