Gerald Peter Braun1950 - 2016Gerald Peter Braun, 66 of Veneta passed away on December 4, 2016. Gerald was born on July 25, 1950 in Linton, North Dakota to Anton and Ann Braun.He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Richard. He is survived by his wife Judith of Veneta, sons David Braun of Eugene and Bear Braun of Veneta, daughter, Angie Jones and her husband Greg of Eugene, brother Thomas Braun of Eugene and sister Mary Ann Bowman of Issaquah, WA. Four grandchildren, Zachary, Courtney, Brooklyn and Joseph. Two great grandchildren, Parker and Colter. He is also survived by 12 nieces and nephews.Gerald graduated from Churchill High School in 1968. He married Judith Nored on December 25, 1970. He worked at Western Irrigation, Pierce Irrigation, PW Pipe, Simpson Door Company, Swift Trucking, First Student and was the owner/operator of Bear Steel Fabricating.Gerald was a man of strong faith, believing in the power and strength of the Lord. He loved to spend time with his family and enjoyed barbecuing, camping, swimming, hiking and walking with his best friend and dog, Suzy. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 9, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Veneta, Oregon.
