Felton Slater, 64, of Claxton, Georgia, passed Wednesday, December 13, 2017. He was born to Felton Slater Sr., and Rubydell Slater, February 19, 1953, in Manassas, Georgia and spent his childhood in Claxton, Ga

Felton moved to Poughkeepsie, NY in his teen years where he attended Poughkeepsie High School  and he joined the military in 1970 where he served in the United States Marine Corp and did his basic training in SC. Felton served on active duty and fought in Okinawa, Japan and stateside. He married Robbin Slater (Winston Salem, NC) in 1986. Felton was no stranger to the D.C. area where he later resided and worked as a PCA for many of years.

In 1970 he was honored with the Good Conduct Medal.

Felton is survived by 8 children: Rashad Slater, Shanika McNair (Jerry McNair), Jovan Slater, Jovanna Slater, Cherysh Slater, Jokari Slater, Joyess Slater, and Jovante Slater.  Brothers 4: Floyd Slater, Clayton Slater, Feadrell Slater. Sisters 3: Glory Dell Slater, Maedine Slater- Goodman Gloria Slater. He also is survived by 6 grandchildren, host of family and friends.
