Evalene Edwina SherlockJeddoEvalene Edwina (Crittenden) Sherlock 82 of Jeddo, MI died peacefully surrounded by her family May 12, 2017. She was born on January 8, 1935 at home in lakeview, Michigan to the late Norman and Freda (Alexander) Crittenden. In 1953, she married her sweetheart Melvin "Wayne" Sherlock. Evalene Worked for 25 years at Marwood Nursing Home, while raising her large brood of children and maintaining a home. Those who loved her will remember her as the epitome of silent strength, resilience and grace. She was a talented gardener, avid reader, political and history junkie, loved the Detroit Tigers and was an accomplished crossword puzzle sleuth. She dearly loved her family, Elvis, frogs, her soap operas, and her cats, and was passionate about equal rights for all, especially those with disabilities and other disenfranchised groups. Evalene is survived by her seven children who deeply loved her: Michael (Diane), Eva "Kathy" Matte (Tom), David (Linda Louise), Douglas (Amy), Christopher (Marie), Brick (Sandi) and Kevin; sisters Betty Crittenden and Thelma Crowl; grandchildren Michael (Lynette), Steven (Jamie) Nicholas, Jennifer Belanger, Lauri Barker (Randy), Jason Matte (Victoria), Jonathan Julian (Jackie), Jarret Julian (Neilene), Jessica Lizardi (Tony), Susan Scott, David, John Adkins, Drema McLelland (Paul), Scott Sherlock, Nichol Issac, Dan Rich (Jessica), Greg Rich (Monica), SandraLily, Anastasia, Teresa Saincome, Amanda Wilder (Jake) 33 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Evalene was predeceased by her husband, granddaughters Kim Hoolihan, and Cassandra Sherlock. Also siblings Alvina and Norman in infancy and Myrtle Devroy.
