Ellen Vail, age 86, of Oscoda and formerly of Poughkeepsie, N.Y. died Thursday, Aug. 12, 2010 at her home. She was born on Dec. 6, 1923 to Edward and Jenny Stein (nee Pardee) in Poughkeepsie. Ellen was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Poughkeepsie and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oscoda. She loved to read, knit and spend time with her family and friends. She is survived by her children; Ellen Hinglebine of Florida, Richie Vail of California, Allen Vail of Illinois, Gail Gordon of New York, Margaret Hunt of Michigan, John Rogers of New York and Roy Rogers of New York. Ellen is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Harry Vail, Jr. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
