Ellen Mary Arndt, 79, of Rochester, died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016, at her home. Ellen Mary Arndt was born on July 22, 1937, in Wyoming, Minn., to Frank and Constance (Gilmer) Johnson.  She attended school in Bloomington, Minn., graduating in 1955. On July 23, 1955, she married LeRoy Arndt at St. John's Lutheran Church in Shakopee, Minn. Ellen worked as a waitress at Perkins in Rochester for more than 40 years. Ellen loved her job and her customers, but above all else she loved her family. Ellen is survived by her husband, LeRoy of Rochester; children, Rick (Christine) Arndt, Brenda Baker, Connie (Chris) Burkhard, Robyn (Troy) Tungland; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry Johnson; and sister, Judy Pierce. Ellen was preceded in death by her parents and son, Kip Arndt. Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Karna Hagen Moskalik officiating.
