Dorothy Lynn Cavet passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on December 10th, 2016. She was 72 years old and a resident of Belle Chasse, La. Dottie was born on November 29th, 1944, in New Orleans, La. She was a graduate of Francis T. Nicholls High School, class of 1962, where she excelled in her passion for art. She is preceded in death by her parents, Nolan and Sue Borne. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 54 years Charles S. Cavet Jr.; sons, Robert Charles Cavet (Amy), Brent Michael Cavet (Celeste); and daughter, Patti Lynn Piglia (Joey); 5 granddaughters, Brooke, Kristen, Kaitlyn, Madisyn and Allisyn; and 2 grandsons, Payton and Cody. She is also survived by her sister, Carolyn Sue Caruso, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Nothing brought her more joy than spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, and a wonderful and loving mother. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a memorial mass at Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Church 8968 La-23, Belle Chasse, La. 70037. On December 29th, 2016 at 11 am, with visitation from 9 am till 11 am. Following mass, the family will gather at the Knights of Columbus Hall located next to OLPH Church for a reception.
