Finney, Dorothy Rosella Age 98; of Mt. Pleasant; passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at McLaren Central Michigan. She was born on August 5, 1918 in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of Lewis and Bertha Frees Pease. Dorothy was a homemaker and was a member of the The Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, now known as the Community of Christ. She enjoyed crocheting, writing short stories, making greeting cards, was a good cook, and was a Sunday School Teacher for over 50 years. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Charlene Brown of Mt. Pleasant; great niece, Darla Hunter of Mt. Pleasant; along with nieces, Marlene Koons, Nancy Carassillo, and Anna; and a nephew, Jerry Armstrong. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Charles Freeze in 1949 and John Finney in 1980; and four sisters, Mary, Cora, Helen, and Bernice. Funeral services for Dorothy will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 from the Rowley Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 11 a.m. until the time of the services.
