We are saddened to announce the passing of Dorothy Batie, who passed away on November 27, 2025 in her hometown of Chicago, Illinois. Dorothy was born on November 4, 1959 to her loving parents, Herman and Linda Batie.

Dorothy married the love of her life, Malcolm Wethers, in 1981. Together, they raised three wonderful children: Wesley Batie (spouse: Wanda), Danielle Batie, and Jonathan Batie (spouse: Tameka). Dorothy was also a proud grandmother to three grandchildren.

Dorothy attended Rogers High School and graduated in 1976 before continuing her studies at Harold Washington College, where she graduated in 1981. She worked as a nurse until her retirement in 2016.

Outside of her professional life, Dorothy dedicated her time to volunteering at the church feeding the homeless organization. She was known for her perfect attendance and hard-working nature.

In her free time, Dorothy enjoyed cooking, drinking coffee, and spending time with her beloved grandchildren.

Though she may be gone, Dorothy Batie will always be remembered for her kind heart, strong work ethic, and love for her family.
