Debra MatzDebra Ann Matz, 64, passed away on Wednesday, April 26th, 2017 at her home following a courageous battle with cancer.A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 29th at 2:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses located at 4900 W. 49th St. in Sioux Falls.Debra was born on September 14, 1952 in Susanville, CA to John and Joanne Jones. In 1969 she graduated from Wahpeton High School in North Dakota. Upon graduating at the age of 16, she entered the full-time ministry which she continued to enjoy for 34 years. In 1971 she moved to Sioux Falls, SD where she met her future husband, Loren Matz. They would later wed on March 27th, 1976. Together they raised two sons. During the course of their 36 year marriage, Debra and Loren enjoyed traveling together all over the world. Debra will be remembered for her kind and generous spirit which was made evident by her gracious hospitality. Despite her sudden illness, Debra's strength and courage never wavered. She retained her optimism and sense of humor to the end. She will be dearly missed by many.She is survived by her son, Brock Matz, Sioux Falls, SD; stepson, Shawn Matz, Fort Collins, Co; sister, Rochelle Jones, Sioux Falls, SD.
