David Allen Laws, 89, of Candor, North Carolina, passed away on March 9th, 2018 peacefully in his sleep.

A memorial service will be held at 9:00 AM on March 11th, 2018 at Sanderson and Sons Funeral Home. Reverend Mike Jones of St. Anthony Church will be officiating.

David was born in Candor, North Carolina on November 26th, 1948. He graduated from Candor Central High School and continued on to receive a Bachelor’s of Education Degree from the University of North Carolina. David worked as a teacher at a local high school for more than 25 years. He enjoyed reading, going to the movies, playing and watching sports. He loved spending time with his family.

David is survived by his two children, Dwayne A. Laws and Jenna B. Laws and his 1 grandchild Bethany V. Laws. Also 2 brothers, Martin L. Laws and Ken B. Laws; his nieces and nephews; and the rest of his family and friends.

David is preceded in death by his parents, Walter H. Laws and June J. Laws; as well as his sister, Jennifer G. Workman.
