Darlene J. Olson, 85, of Rochester, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 25, 2016, in the arms of her family.  A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home, with the Rev. Karna Hagen Moskalik officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gift of Life Transplant House, Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and Season's Hospice.  She was born on June 23, 1931, in Fargo, N.D., to Joseph and Signe (Johnson) Larson. Signe passed away shortly after giving birth, and later Joe married Lou Nieman. Darlene graduated from Moorhead High School in 1950. She married Marvin L. Olson also of Moorhead, Minn., on May 31, 1953. She followed the love of her life from Moorhead to St. Louis Park, Minn., and later moved to Rochester in 1961. Darlene cared for Marv for more than 20 years during his illness until he died in October 1990. Darlene was employed by JC Penney's in Rochester for more than 30 years and retired in 2005. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and later Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, where she volunteered and was involved in Ladies' Circle. She enjoyed gardening and looked forward to meeting with Friday's coffee group. Darlene had a great love for her family and often attended her grandchildren's activities.  Darlene is survived by the four J's, Jim (Kathy) Olson, Jan Yocom, Jon (Diane) Olson, Julie (Jeff) Gorman, all in the Rochester area; grandchildren, Angie Foster, Emily (Nick) Fuller, Scott Olson, Joshua (Devon) Yocom, Jenny (Ben) Beighley, Sam and Joe Olson, Megan (Michael) Radosovich, Jay (fiancée, Brittini) Gorman, Hannah Burkholder; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Renee Bexell of Park Rapids, Minn.; and brother, Don Larson of Detroit Lakes, Minn.
