Carolyn C. BaylisNewark - Carolyn Clark Baylis passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Newark Manor Nursing Home. Carolyn worked in the administrative office of Tower Hill School for 11 years, retiring in 1997. She was born on October 4, 1932 in Danville, Illinois to the late John and Gladys Clark. She moved to Wilmington, DE when she was 13 to live with her Aunt and Uncle, Marshall and Audrey Brown after the death of her parents. She was a graduate of P.S. Dupont HS (1950) and the University of Delaware (1954) with a degree in home economics. She married her high school sweetheart on June 19, 1954. Carolyn was a master seamstress with the skill to create almost anything. Over the years she has made hundreds of dolls, bears and angels. Carolyn is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Frank L. Baylis, Jr.; her daughters, Susan Gibbons (Brent Givens) of Brattleboro, VT and Sharon Graham (Gene) of Tavernier FL; 5 grandchildren, Stephen Gibbons (Carolan), Dana Gibbons, Carey Gibbons, Mike Asimaz (Rachel), and Alyssa McGuire (Patrick); 2 great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Kyra Asimaz. She is also survived by her siblings, Jack Clark (Dora) and Mary Jo Clark; as well as her very special cousins Robert, Alan and Barbara. The family would like to offer a special thanks to the staff of Newark Manor for the sincere care and compassion they provided Carolyn the past 3 years. They did an outstanding job!!
