Brian Cavanaugh, age 57, of Oscoda and formerly of Albuquerque, N.M., died Sunday, May 2, 2010, at Tendercare Nursing Home in Tawas City. He was born on Nov. 12, 1952, in Detroit to James and Joan Cava­naugh (nee Reilly). Brian loved Albuquerque, where he resided for 22 years before returning to Oscoda in 2002. He was an avid sports enthusiast who loved golf. Brian is survived by his parents; James and Joan; his brothers, James E., Patrick S., Kevin J. and Matthew H.; and his sisters, Sharon (Charles) Newman, Mary Crooks and Joni (Ken) Flint. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Brian was preceded in death by his sister, Maureen. A memorial Mass will be held Saturday, May 15, at noon at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with a gathering for family and friends to follow at the Eagles Club in Oscoda from 2 to 6 p.m. Condolences may be offered at www.­bureshfuneralhomes.com.
