Gallus, 79 year old resident of Royalton, MN passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 26 at 10:30 AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Royalton.   A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 25 from 1:00-4:00 P.M. and from 8:30-9:30 AM on Monday, June 26 all visitation times will be held at Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls. Burial will be at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery north of Little Falls.  Royalton American Legion Prayer at 2:30 PM, Knights of Columbus Office of the Dead at 3:00 and Parish Prayers at 3:30 PM on Sunday afternoon at the funeral home.Bernie was born on July 15, 1937 in Two Rivers Township, Morrison County to George and Julia Gallus.  He attended grade school in District #8.  He received his high school education in Royalton and graduated from Sauk Centre with the class of 1955.  Bernie enlisted in the US Air Force on October 3, 1955, and retired on October 31, 1975 as an (E-7) Master Sargent.  His service included a tour in Southeast Asia.  Bernie was united in marriage to Marcella "Marcy" Hubner on August 23, 1960 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Sobieski, MN.  After his retirement from the Air Force, he worked as a painting contractor, and part-time at Riverside Assisted Living and Emblom Brenny Funeral Service.  Bernie enjoyed visiting with family and friends, playing cards, and taking care of the lawn and garden. He volunteered at the American Legion, St. Francis Convent, and at Holy Trinity Catholic Church as a mass server, lector, and Eucharistic Minister.  Bernie was a member of the Knights of Columbus council 13398 serving as 3rd degree, charter grand knight, past grand knight; 4th degree, Monsignor T. Leo Keavney Assembly, and past faithful navigator. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #137 and Holy Trinity Catholic Church.Bernie is survived by his loving wife, Marcella "Marcy" Gallus of Royalton, MN; sons, Gregory (Jeri) Gallus of Memphis, TN, Richard (LaVonne) Gallus of St. Joseph, MN, Mark Gallus of Little Falls, MN; grandchildren, Peter (Ashley) Gallus, Julie Gallus, Emma Gallus, Beth (Jack) Miller; brothers, Robert (Bonnie) Gallus, Ronald (Judy) Gallus, Larry (Darlene) Gallus; sisters, Claudette (Eugene) Jennissen, Joan (Frank) Wynne, Mary (Linn) Emerick; sisters-in-law, Cathy Gallus, Ann Gallus and Darlene Gallus.He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jerry Gallus, Ken Gallus, Tom Gallus, James Gallus, Father David Gallus, OSC; and brother-in-law, Urban Euteneuer.The arrangements are with Emblom Brenny Funeral Service in Little Falls. 320-632-4393.
