Bernadine M. "Bernie" Barrett, 89St. CloudDec. 12, 1927 - Mar. 19, 2017Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 24, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church for Bernadine M. "Bernie" Barrett, age 89, of St. Cloud, who passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at her home. Reverend Gregory Lieser will officiate. Entombment will be in Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum.Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday at St. Peter's Catholic Church.Bernie was born on December 12, 1927 to Conrad and Dora (Schmiesing) Petermeier in Melrose, Minnestoa. Bernie worked for many years in accounting, for both Sears and Dayton's until her retirement. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella, St. Cloud Eagles Aerie #622 Women's Auxiliary, the Women of the Moose #417 and the Red Hat Society.Bernie was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother; who loved spending time with her family and friends. After retirement she enjoyed traveling around the world. She was an excellent card player, playing 500 at the Whitney Senior Center. She also enjoyed going to the casino occasionally, but never hit it big. She was an avid Minnesota Twins fan, often keeping box scores during the season.She is survived by her children, Patrick (Darla), of Crosslake, Ann (Dave) Schepers, of Sartell, Gail (Felix) Crepeau, of Minnetonka, Lynn Martinson, of Littleton, CO and Becky Anderman, of Rice; 12 grandchildren and five great grandchildren; siblings, Adeline Christen, Edna Brennan, Jim (Betty) and Jack (Char) Petermeier; sisters-in-law, Lucy Petermeier and Bernadette (Wif) Finken and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.Bernie is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Bob and Gene Petermeier; and brothers-in-law, Norbert Christen and Pat Brennan.In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the or the Poor Clares Monastery in Sauk Rapids.
