Barbara Gary , 73, of New Orleans, Louisiana, passed on July 21, 2023. Barbara was born on June 15, 1950.

She is survived by her husband James Gary, Shana Sonia Williams ; daughter, Andrea Sonia Gary (); grandchildren Markia meyers, Asia’nay Meyers, Devin Sonia, Devante Sonia, Kayla Sonia, and Kyla Sonia. God children Jill Williams, Kevin Williams.

He was predeceased by his parents Antoine Cheramie and Gladys Plaisance Bouvier; infant sister, Geraldine Cheramie; step-father, Duffy Bouvier and step-siblings Georgia Dufrene and Paul Bouvier

He was a graduate of South Lafourche High, Nicholls State University and LSU Law School, practicing law since 1976. C.J. was active in many community organizations including Leadership Lafourche, Lafourche Parish Indigent Defender Board, Lafourche Parish Civil Service Board, and the South Lafourche Chamber of Commerce, among many others. He was awarded the prestigious Monte M. Lemann award for Good Government in 2003

C.J. loved his family fiercely, along with his loyal dog Buddy and sweet cat Gracie. He lived for LSU game days at Superior Grill, family gatherings and pontificating on Facebook. He was an enthusiast of Mark Twain, orator of Cajun humor, seeker of knowledge, advocate of the underdog, self-made, soft-hearted, young at heart and a true Southern gentleman. He always greeted everyone with a handshake and a smile.
