Avonell Gorrell, a beloved member of the Parkersburg community, passed away on May 15, 2025, at the age of 65. Born on January 2, 1960, Preceeded in her death was her parents, Jimmy Kelly Marcum and Velva Gay Marcum, and 3 brothers, Jimmy Dale Elkins, Keith Marcum, and Billy Marcum. Those left to cherish her memory are her 3 children, Craig Gorrell, Tara Dean (3 beautiful grandchildren) and Bryant Gorrell (2 beautiful grandchildren). Sisters, Nora Hawkins (John) of Davin, WV, Rebecca Robinson (Tim) of Greenvalley, WV, Delilah Somide (Tim) and Lawana Turner (Steve) both of SC, Debbie Farmer of Chapmanville, WV, Selina Keeney of KY, Bessie Marcum and Thelma Stevens , both of Ravenswood, WV. Jewell Simpkins of Huff Creek, WV, Wanda Adams (Roy) and Lora Mounts , both of Jewell Valley, VA, Two brothers, Johhny Marcum of Davin, and Thomas (Wanda) Marcum of Oceana, WV. Many special nieces and nephews, along with a host of other relatives and friends.Avonell was known for her kindness, compassion, and unwavering generosity. She touched the lives of many with her warm smile and gentle spirit. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her memory forever live on in our hearts.
