Arlene M. Lahr, 81WatkinsMay 16, 1935 - December 1, 2016Arlene was born on May 16, 1935 at Watkins to Edward and Marcella (Boeckmann) Geislinger. She married Norbert Lahr on October 15, 1955 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Watkins. Together they farmed as partners in the St. Nicholas area. She was a long time member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and was a member of the Christian Women's group. Arlene enjoyed sewing, embroidering and quilting. Her hobbies included playing cards and square dancing. Arlene and Norbert especially enjoyed their many travels throughout the world. She is remembered by her children as an excellent cook and wonderful mother.Arlene is survived by her husband, Norbert Lahr of Watkins; children and their spouses, Debbie (David) Schlichting of Clearwater, Norman (Peggy) Lahr of St. Joseph, Jan Lahr of Willmar, Carleen Berg of Watkins, Loren (Corri) Lahr of Ham Lake, Louis (Toni) Lahr of Cedar, Karen (Ralph) Mueller of Watkins, Patty Jensen of Lakeville, Ronald (Holly) Lahr of Richmond; 24 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; Brothers and their spouses, Elmer (Kathleen) Geislinger of Watkins, Irv (Betty) Geislinger of Watkins, Larry (Viola) Geislinger of Litchfield, Vic (Mary Jane) Geislinger, Robert (Diane) Geislinger of Watkins.She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Lahr; son-in-law, Bradley Berg; brother, Michael Geislinger and sister, Diane Janssen.Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Arlene M. Lahr, 81, of Watkins will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 5, 2016 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in St. Nicholas. Arlene passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Rev. Thomas Olson will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Nicholas Catholic Cemetery.Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Monday, both at the Ertl Funeral Home in Watkins. Parish prayers will be at 4:15 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
