Age 92 Died peacefully on November 15, 2016 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul. The oldest of five children, she was born on May 13, 1924, in Pelican Rapids, MN, to parents John and Dina Olson. She attended Concordia College in Moorhead and later the University of Minnesota, earning a degree in Home Economics. At the U, she met and married Leslie Matts of Embarrass, MN. They raised 5 children: John (Le) Matts of Roseville, MN; Lauri (Karen) Matts of Roseville; Robert (Jan Brooker) Matts of Stillwater, OK; Mary Matts Huebner of Savage, MN; and Juli Matts of Hopkin, MN. They moved often for her husband's career but finally settled in Roseville where she was a teacher aide first at Kellogg and later at Roseville Area High School. After her husband's death, she continued to enjoy gardening, nature, travel, crafts and quilting. She is also survived by her brothers Conrad (Rosemary) Olson of St Paul, MN, and Marvin Olson of Willmar, MN; her grandchildren Christian (Heather) Brooker of Glendale, CA, Jacqi (Bruce) Beck of Lakeville, MN, Emory (Lynn Lucas) Matts of Rowlett, TX, Christie (Scott Olson) Matts of Shoreview, MN, Lindsay Matts-Benson (Kent Benson) of St Paul, MN, Jessica Matts of Stillwater, OK, Jeremy Matts of Duluth, MN, Jeffrey (Angela) Huebner of St Paul, MN, Jayna Huebner of Savage, MN and Arick Matts of Stillwater, OK; her great-grandchildren Brendan, Simon, Channing, Magnus, Leif, Miko and Leta; and many nieces and nephews. Her family thanks Vicki and the staff at the Friendship Home on Roselawn in Roseville for their kindness and loving care during Annette's final years. A memorial service will be at 11 AM on Friday December 2 at the Roseville Memorial Chapel, 2245 N Hamline Avenue, Roseville, with visitation at 10AM. Lunch will be served afterward.
