Anita F. WestbrookCroswellAnita Faye (Anderson) Westbrook, 83, passed away on March 25, 2017 at Medilodge of Yale.  She was born on April 19, 1933 in Port Huron, to Ralph Andrew Anderson and Hannah "Anna" (Johnston) (Simmons) Anderson.  She attended Marysville High School, graduating in 1951.  Anita married Hazen Earl Westbrook on August 22, 1953.  He preceded her in death on April 2, 1999.Family, friends, church and community provided Anita with a very full and active life.  She was a 4-H leader and judge for many years, along with being a Michigan State 4-H Council member.  Anita volunteered for several activities like Croswell Lexington Little League, Croswell Fair, Buel Women's Society, along with many others.  She was an amazing seamstress, knitter and quilter.  Beyond doing these things herself, she also taught others and helped them figure out how to fix their own projects.  Anita worked at Mueller Brass before starting her family.  After the children grew she worked at the Croswell Stockyards and Mary Maxim's for several years.Anita is survived by three children, Ray Andrew (Mary) Westbrook of Venice, FL, Scott Lewis (Brenda) Westbrook, of Yale, MI, and Holly Arminda (Charles "Chad") Uhlhorn of Pittsburgh, PA; 8 grandchildren, Matthew (Laura) Westbrook, Jessica (Melanie) Westbrook, Luke (Brittany) Westbrook, Taylor Westbrook, Collin Westbrook, Amber (Michael) Park, Laura (Kyle) Bassett and Raquel (Dylan) Schneider;  8 great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Ashley and Matthew "MJ" Westbrook of Lexington, MI, and Zeke, Connor, Amelia, Eva, and Keegan Park of Lubbock, TX;  also several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends who "Aunt Nita", "Grama Westbrook", GG loved dearly.Anita was preceded in death by 16 brothers and sisters, Verna (Anderson) Minnie, Thomas Anderson, Melissa Anderson, John Anderson, Watson Anderson, Lewis Anderson, Nellie (Anderson) Jowett, Anetta (Anderson) Hering, Harold Anderson, Russell Simmons, Ray Simmons, Leonard Simmons, Lloyd Simmons, Aleatha "Letha" (Simmons) Gross, Clara (Simmons) Bloink and Charles "Bud" Simmons; one brother in law and sister in law, Edward Charles "EC" (Catheryn) Westbrook and one great grandson Jude Hamlett.Visitation will be from 2-9 PM on Friday, March 31 at the Pomeroy Funeral Home in Croswell, and from 10-11 AM Saturday, April 1.Funeral Services will be held 11 AM on Saturday, April 1 at the Pomeroy Funeral Home in Croswell.  Rev. Nick Genoff will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Croswell Cemetery.Memorials in memory of Anita may be made to the Buel United Methodist Church or Sanilac County 4-H.
