Leroy Weinzetl, 84, of Worthington, Minnesota, passed away on June 19, 2023. He fought Lewy Body dementia valiantly for 3 yrs. Leroy was born on March 16, 1939. He attended grade school at the Great Bend Township country school and attended high school in Windom, MN. Leroy met the love of his life, Karen King at a 4-H meeting and they were married on August 21st, 1957. They both wanted a large family and they had 3 boys and 2 girls. Allen Weinzetl and special friend Teresa Chonko, Jackson, MN, Jodie Burmeister and her husband Rae, Hines, MN. Clell "Zeke" "Mike" Weinzetl and fiancee ,Cary Randall, Alpha, MN. Misty Tscherter and husband Gene, Brewster, MN. and Wayln Weinzetl and his wife Kayla, Blackduck, MN. Leroy was a very hard worker and worked for Lakefield Plumbing and Heating for a number of years before moving on to Winter Construction in Pipestone, MN. Leroy and Karen moved from Lakefield to Blackduck, MN after purchasing a resort in 1994 and he continued to work at Winters Construction until his retirement in 2005. They enjoyed their winters in Tucson, AZ for 20 yrs and Leroy continued to do odd jobs down there. They moved from Blackduck to Brewster in 2019 when his health started getting worse. Leroy loved watching his kids and grandkids and great grandkids grow up. He especially loved the family reunions in northern MN. Leroy loved tinkering around on everything and anything and there wasn't anything he couldn't fix or do. Leroy is survived by his wife Karen and his 5 children, 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildrenA celebration of Leroy's life will be held Saturday, June 24th, 2023 at 9:30 am at 18393 Wass Ave, Brewster, MN. All family and friends are welcome.
