My husband has made me laugh, wiped my tears, hugged me tight, watched me succeed, seen me fall, and kept me strong. He was a promise that I would have a friend forever. God blessed our marriage for 45 years, 4 months and 9 days. He was the love of my life and indeed there will be so many memories to cherish.Allen Eugene Davis, Jr., 66, was born on September 28, 1951 in Monroe, LA to Allen E. Davis, Sr. and Sybil Morrow Davis. He passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loved ones.Visitation will be held at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA on Friday, October 27, 2017 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, October 28, 2017 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Salisbury officiating. Interment will follow in the Kilpatrick's Serenity Gardens in West Monroe, LA.Allen is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Brenda Davis Roberts.Survivors include his wife, Debbie Granberry Davis; son, Brian Madison Davis; daughter, Sybil Lynette Davis; sister, Rebecca Davis Kirkland; 2 special cousins, Alice Morrow Byrnside (Tommy) who was like a sister, and Todd Davis (Cynthia) who was like a brother; sister-in-law, Teresa Granberry; nephew, Dalton Granberry; an aunt, several uncles and numerous cousins.Pallbearers will be Todd Davis, Gerald Hendrix, Curt Hendrix, Roger Berry, Terry Boone and Dalton Granberry. Honorary Pallbearers will be co-workers from LA Power and Light Co, members of the Twin City Longbeards, LA Cattleman's Association and LA Operation Game Thief.Allen retired from Louisiana Power and Light/ Entergy after 34 years of service in substation construction. He was a member of the Twin City Longbeards chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation serving as past president, JAKES coordinator and banquet chairman. He was on the board of directors as past president of the Louisiana Operation Game Thief program with the LA Department of Wildlife and Fisheries. He was also a member of the LA Cattleman's Association. Loving to hunt deer and turkey, he was in two hunting clubs, Hico Hilton in Hico, LA and Skeeter Bayou in West Monroe, LA.Allen was a wonderful hard working man, a good provider, a caring father who was very proud of both of his children, a loving brother, devoted husband and special friend to so many. He would help anyone he could and will be greatly missed. Life will not be the same without him. Heaven has received one fine man.
