Thelma L. Goldsmith was born on April 19, 1956 in Raleigh North Carolina to Patrice and Sammis Goldsmith. Thelma graduated school in 1975 from Phillips High. She married her high school sweetheart Joe Mannis in 1981. After moving to South Carolina Thelma began working for Tim's Cleaners as a sewer. Over a period of time Thelma and Joe welcomed 3 kids into this world. Joe Mannis jr Samantha Mannis and Michael Mannis. Joe and Thelma set about teaching them skills and trades. Thelma and Joe's children remember her as a kind, gentle, patient, driven mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals.

Thelma was a generous, witty, dedicated individual who loved supporting others and who was pssionate about changing the world. She was an active and dedicated member of Raleigh Church of Christ. Thelma also volunteered at a few different churches and several schools.

Thelma is survived by her mother Patrice of Raleigh North Carolina. Her 3 children Joe jr Samantha and Michael of Raleigh North Carolina. A host of Siblings from New york Maxine D. Goldsmith, Josiah Goldsmith, Willie F. Goldsmith , Mattie Goldsmith Martia Goldsmith and a host of others.
