James was born on April 18, 1956, to James Jackson Sr and Cynthia in Salisbury, North Carolina. In 2010, he married the love of his life, Angela, and together they raised three children: Tamara, Megan, and Adam.

James dedicated his life to serving his country in the Army, where he displayed courage, loyalty, and devotion to his fellow soldiers. He was admired for his leadership skills and unwavering commitment to his duties.
