Steven R. FellenzFishkill - Steven R. Fellenz, a local area resident since 1990, died suddenly following a brief illness on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. Son of the late Robert H. and Mary (Klaia) Fellenz, he was born on May 4, 1967 in Heidelberg, Germany, where his parents were teachers employed by the U.S. Military. Steve came to the U.S. to attend college at the University of Florida. After residing in Gainesville, FL, he relocated to Dutchess County in 1990 to work for I.B.M. at their Poughkeepsie facility, where he remained for almost 27 years. In his free time, Steve enjoyed travel, biking, and volleyball. He was an avid fan of the University of Florida Gators, especially the school's football and basketball teams.On April 27, 1996, he married Colleen McKeon at St. Mary's Church in Wappingers Falls.Colleen survives at home in Fishkill, along with their daughter Samantha. Additional survivors include his brothers, John Fellenz and Robert Fellenz, both of Gainesville, FL; his parents-in-law, Michael & Nancy McKeon of Summerfield, FL; his sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Christine & Barry Cook of Stephens City, VA, Michael McKeon of West Palm Beach, FL, Nancy McKeon-Ison of Newport News, VA, and Kathleen & Bob Bassett of Alexandria, VA. Steve is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.Calling hours will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 23 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:45 a.m. on Friday, February 24 at St. Mary's Church, 11 Clinton Street, Wappingers Falls.
