Ruth Seward TaylorAGE: 92 • WilmingtonRuth Seward Taylor, 92, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 2nd, 2017 while surrounded by her family. She was born on August 11, 1924, the daughter of the late Elizabeth and Walter Seward whom she adored. On August 5, 1942, she married William E. Taylor, Sr., who predeceased her in 1991. She was also predeceased by her older brother, Walt of FL.Ruth was a graduate of A.I. duPont High School. After raising her family she worked for New Castle County as a School Crossing Guard for 21 years retiring in 1994. Ruth was also a dedicated volunteer for her church's community thrift store. She enjoyed our family gatherings, times at the beach and babysitting her many grandchildren.Ruth was a kind and gentle woman who provided a loving and caring home for her family. Ruth is survived by her four sons, Bill (Mildred), Bruce (Theresa), Glenn (Dawn) and Ken (Tammy). She was the grandmother of eight grandchildren and the great-grandmother of twelve great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Bob of CA and a host of nieces and nephews. Ruth was a lifelong member of Richardson Park United Methodist Church, 11 N. Maryland Ave., Wilmington, DE 19804, where a visitation will be held from 10 to 11 AM on Wednesday, May 10th followed by a service to celebrate her life beginning at 11 AM. Interment will be at Gracelawn Memorial Park.Her entire family and many friends loved her very much and will miss her continuing physical presence.
